Turned down by the City

Dear Editor:

Re: Mayor stands firm on decision despite criticism (Herald, Feb. 22).

I also was denied a place on the Parks and Recreation committee. I felt I had a lot to offer this committee having lived in this city 64 years, worked in Parks and Recreation department for 34 years, as a facility coordinator which gave me extensive knowledge of booking needs of all parks and buildings in this city.

It is known I am against the waterslide being built in a city park, but I am not against a waterslide in another location.

I feel as Dr. Gerry Karr  does, that is the reason I was given a letter to say “thank you, but no thanks.”
