I wish to commend the members of the Save Skaha Park Society advisory board for their dedication, their commitment, and their considerable efforts to preserve our beautiful Skaha Park. For almost a year, these board members, with the strong support of hundreds of volunteers, have worked tirelessly on behalf of thousands of our citizens, in a bid to protect our park from commercial development.
It has been a long road for these committee members, but they have persevered for the benefit of all of us, and we thank them.
In contrast, City Council and City Hall staff appear to have opted for a less communicative approach by sitting on the fence, and failing to negotiate with others in good faith. I urge Council to get a grip on realty, and to resolve this contentious issue once and for all. Enough is enough.
