Its very reassuring to see Pentictonites stand up to the Skaha waterfront development.
Everyone has the right to participate in the economic activities of the city and hopefully nobody has an inside track. Without democratically elected committees however, there are no checks and balances on corruption. Also, who sets the agenda for council meetings needs to be reviewed.
The city’s parks and marinas are significant community resources that, if run by a committee, should be a democratically elected one.
They should be kept as community resources so that costs can be kept down and average people will have access to the wonderful activities of sailing and boating.
