Mayor denies Trio’s gag order

Dear Editor:

Thank you very much for clearing up the mystery regarding the lack of information from both the City and Trio. The people of Penticton will be delighted.

Apparently Trio (spokesperson Rob Campbell) stated in a Western News article that they had to sign a non-disclosure agreement with the City way back when they first started negotiations.

According to the article, Mr. Jakubeit explained that he can not remember such an agreement! Doesn’t that sound familiar? That sentence has been used quite a bit in Ottawa lately.

This explains everything right up to and including what happened on Aug. 29, 2015, a date that most people of Penticton will never forget. It looks like that Mr. Jakubeit ignored everything that he holds so dearly and he quotes in almost every second sentence and that is “due process.”

There you have it, it seems the only way we will keep our park is to take Mr. Jakubeit and his obedient council to court and let the court decide whether we can keep our park or not.
