This quote is from Michael Smyth’s column in The Province (Aug. 6). His column was written about a different topic than waterslides but it perfectly describes the fiasco in Penticton cause by Mr. Jakubeit and his council.
“It always drives me crazy when I hear a politician blame a problem of their own making on ‘poor communications’ as if better spin doctors would make everything right. Politicians hate admitting mistakes. They’d rather admit their ideas were great from the start if only they had explained them better to the great unwashed masses.”
Oh, and if all else fails, blame the daily newspaper for publishing letters that make the city council and staff look bad.
