Don’t want low-pay jobs

Dear Editor:

A waterslide in Skaha Lake Park does not represent change in Penticton. It is the third version of a commercial venture that failed twice already.

It is “same old, same old”: seasonal, part-time, minimum wage and no benefits.  We need employment opportunities in Penticton, but they need to be full-time, with living wage and benefits for families.  The amount of public land that will be lost is too high a price to pay for “same old, same old.”
